The first step to choosing the right cosmetics is understanding your own skin accurately. Recent advances in AI and data technologies are making this process more specific and measurable. One representative example is AI Skin Analysis, where a smartphone or dedicated device captures the skin, AI analyzes it instantly, and the results can then be connected to personalized consultation and product recommendations.

Skin analysis is now becoming a key new touchpoint through which K-Beauty communicates with global consumers. On June 9, 2026, the Ministry of Economy and Finance highlighted this shift in its policy feature video, “Can AI Analyze Your Skin? The Amazing Evolution of K-Beauty.” In particular, ChoiceDx by ChoiceTech Korea appeared as a core AI skin analysis solution in the video, drawing significant attention.

The Remarkable Evolution of K-Beauty, Capturing the Technology and Efforts Behind the Industry

The policy feature video “Can AI Analyze Your Skin? The Amazing Evolution of K-Beauty,” released through the official channel of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, is meaningful in that it presents the new growth potential of K-Beauty in an accessible way through real research environments and hands-on experiences.

The video clearly shows the entire journey of a consumer having their skin captured, reviewing the analysis results, and receiving personalized product recommendations. Through this process, viewers can see how artificial intelligence and data technologies are being practically applied within the beauty industry.

Rather than presenting AI as a distant or abstract technology, the video connects it to familiar everyday experiences such as checking one’s skin condition and selecting cosmetics.

The feature also goes beyond simply presenting export figures. It pays close attention to the research and development efforts quietly supporting K-Beauty’s growth. By showing the technologies, researchers, and professionals behind the industry, the video offers viewers an opportunity to consider where K-Beauty may be headed next.

We sincerely appreciate the Ministry of Economy and Finance for meaningfully presenting the advanced technologies and new initiatives emerging across Korea’s beauty industry.

Beyond Cosmetics: An Industry That Understands the Customer’s Skin

The video introduces the technological capabilities and future industrial value of K-Beauty through Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yun-cheol’s visit to the Kolmar Korea R&D Complex.

According to information presented by the Ministry, K-Beauty exports reached a record-high USD 3.1 billion in the first quarter of 2026.

Behind this remarkable achievement is an increasingly sophisticated R&D ecosystem that includes extensive skin data analysis, personalized product research, and AI-powered skin analysis solutions.

This shift demonstrates how the global competitiveness of K-Beauty is expanding.

The focus is moving beyond simply manufacturing and developing high-quality cosmetics toward scientifically understanding each customer’s skin and designing more personalized product experiences accordingly.

Precisely measuring the skin, interpreting the resulting data, and using those insights to support better product choices are becoming important parts of modern beauty technology.

In this way, advanced BeautyTech is establishing a new standard that connects products and consumers in a smarter and more meaningful way.

ChoiceDx in the Video: From Analysis to Product Discovery

The video shows a remarkable experience in which a user’s facial skin is analyzed in approximately 30 seconds after image capture.

Skin conditions such as pores, pigmentation, and elasticity are analyzed instantly, after which the customer can move directly toward personalized cosmetic recommendations. At the heart of this experience is ChoiceDx by ChoiceTech Korea.

One of the most important questions ChoiceDx focuses on is:

How can analysis results help customers make their next decision?

When skin conditions are visualized through clear data and measurable indicators, customers can gain a more objective understanding of their skin.

Consultants can also use this data to identify concerns that may not have been clearly expressed and suggest an appropriate direction for product exploration.

The true value of skin analysis technology becomes clear when analysis data goes beyond measurement and becomes a practical guide for real consultations and product discovery.

“Before the Product, Understand the Skin.”

This principle represents the starting point of the beauty experience ChoiceDx aims to provide to users around the world.

The Evolution of Offline Beauty Stores: Deeper Conversations Based on “My Skin”

Consumers today already access a vast amount of information before visiting a store. They review cosmetic ingredients and user reviews, compare prices, and even study product textures and application through video content.

In such an information-rich environment, the unique value of offline stores increasingly lies in providing highly personalized experiences tailored to each individual customer.

AI skin analysis can serve as one of the most specific and objective starting points for this experience.

Customers and consultants can review detailed analysis results together, discuss current skin conditions and concerns, and identify which factors should be prioritized when selecting products.

[ Skin Analysis ] ➡️ [ Results Review ] ➡️ [ Personalized Consultation ] ➡️ [ Product Discovery ]

When this flow is connected seamlessly, a store visit can evolve from a simple shopping experience into meaningful time spent understanding both one’s skin and the products being considered.

ChoiceDx provides an integrated solution connecting AI-powered skin, scalp, and hair analysis with customer-specific diagnostic data management and personalized product recommendation systems.

Its goal is to ensure that scientific information generated through analysis becomes useful in real consultations and supports customers throughout their purchase journey.

This is the future of offline beauty retail envisioned by ChoiceDx.

K-Beauty’s Next Competitive Advantage: Connecting Products, Data, and Experience

The Ministry of Economy and Finance’s policy video examines K-Beauty’s remarkable growth not only through export performance, but also through a broader shift in the industry’s technological paradigm.

Artificial intelligence and big data are no longer limited to laboratory R&D. They are beginning to fundamentally change how global consumers discover and experience K-Beauty.

As K-Beauty continues to expand around the world and consumers are presented with more choices, the challenge of selecting the right product becomes even greater.

The next competitive advantage in the global market will therefore depend on how effectively brands can design purchase experiences that help customers identify the products that are truly right for them.

“What does my skin really need right now?”

AI skin analysis provides scientific clues to help answer this fundamental question.

Customers first understand their skin condition, narrow their options through data-driven insights, and then gain confidence in their choices through consultation.

ChoiceDx is more than a device that analyzes the skin. It aims to create a beauty experience in which skin data becomes a trusted conversation between customers and brands.

From technology that understands the skin to experiences that support better choices.

This philosophy represents the essence of the retail technology that ChoiceDx seeks to create.

Within the broader evolution of K-Beauty highlighted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, ChoiceDx will continue to participate at the forefront of innovation where AI and data are translated into real consumer beauty experiences.

Endless Exploration of Skin: Supporting Kolmar Korea’s Research That Opens the Future of K-Beauty

Deepening our understanding of skin and translating scientific insights into product development and entirely new beauty experiences are essential processes for expanding the future potential of K-Beauty.

Behind every innovative product that reaches consumers around the world are countless questions, experiments, and accumulated research data created by professionals working in the field.

These efforts form one of the strongest foundations supporting Korea’s beauty industry in the global market.

We sincerely support Kolmar Korea’s continued research and innovation as it expands our understanding of skin and explores new possibilities for the beauty industry.

We hope these dedicated research efforts will continue to lead to safer, better products and meaningful experiences for consumers around the world.

ChoiceDx will also continue to stand alongside this journey as a technology partner.

K-Beauty, a key export industry leading trends across the global beauty market. But forget everything you thought you knew about beauty. In the age of AI, a new era of beauty has begun. AI and data technologies are driving a new BeautyTech transformation. And where economic innovation is happening, Deputy Prime Minister Koo Yun-cheol is never far away. What kind of K-Beauty innovation surprised him? Let’s find out.

[Narrator]
Beauty has moved beyond cosmetics applied to the face and has become part of everyday life and lifestyle, with Korea at the center of this transformation.

Despite global economic uncertainty, K-Beauty recorded a record-high export value of USD 3.1 billion in the first quarter of this year, continuing to play an important role in Korea’s exports.

Deputy Prime Minister Koo Yun-cheol visited the Kolmar Korea R&D Complex, one of the frontlines of beauty innovation in Korea.

Recently, K-Beauty has been evolving into an AI-powered BeautyTech industry. Accordingly, research combining AI and data with K-Beauty technologies is being conducted at the center.

The Deputy Prime Minister visited to hear from the industry and explore how public-private cooperation can help Korean beauty companies expand globally.

He toured the research facilities, listened to researchers, and examined AI skin analysis technologies as well as cosmetic manufacturing and research processes.

Skin data analysis, personalized product research, and AI-based skin analysis technologies are all being developed together within the research center.

So how advanced is Korea’s BeautyTech industry today?

[Researcher Hee-seung Son]
We are currently developing AI-based technologies that can provide personalized wound care or apply makeup base according to an individual’s skin condition. We plan to demonstrate differentiated technological capabilities in the next generation of beauty devices as well.

[Narrator]
After hearing that, there was no way not to try it. The Deputy Prime Minister looks a little nervous before the experience. What will AI reveal about his skin condition?

In just 30 seconds, the entire face is analyzed in detail, followed by personalized cosmetic recommendations.

[Researcher Hee-seung Son]
You are positioned in the middle yellow range, which means your overall skin condition is relatively balanced.

[Narrator]
After experiencing the possibilities of BeautyTech combined with data—including pores, pigmentation, and skin elasticity—the Deputy Prime Minister organized a discussion to explore how Korea can further strengthen its competitiveness in K-Beauty.

As professionals from the field shared their opinions, he carefully took notes.

[Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yun-cheol]
I often think about what it would take for people around the world, both men and women, to dream of buying a Korean cosmetic product. I came here to hear what the government can do to help make that vision a reality in Korea and how we can collaborate with the industry.

[Narrator]
Beyond conventional cosmetics manufacturing, K-Beauty is entering a new era powered by AI. Korea is creating technologies that the world is watching and following.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance will continue to support this remarkable new chapter in K-Beauty technology.

[Everyone]
